State Audit Service Inspects Lanchkhuti District Administration

State Audit Service entered Lanchkhuti district administration. Employees of the administration clarified that it is scheduled inspection:

“State Audit Service will inspect financial reports of the last three years. Of course, if they find some violations, relevant institutions will act in accordance to the law but I think no significant violation will be detected,” interim district governor Zaza Urushadze told humanrights.ge.

Humanrights.ge interviewed former interim district governor and leader of the National Movement’s local organization Kakha Askurava too.

“It is ordinary scheduled inspection; nothing special. I do not think they inspect the financial documents of the period I was in office. I doubt they will find some violation. By the way, I do not think it is clever decision to inspect the district administration before elections; it is sort of psychological oppression on public servants,” Askurava said.

Before Audit Service, prosecutor’s office entered Ozurgeti municipal board and district administration on February 19, 2013.

The prosecutor’s office was studying programs implemented for the support of villages in 2011-2012 but they have not produced any conclusion yet.

Interim district governor said the State Audit Service is particularly interested in the activities implemented in the frame of village supporting program and social programs.
