Military Chairs to be Abolished at Universities

Tbilisi.30.11.04.Media-News. The Parliamentary Committee for Defense and Security has discussed and supported changes in the law on “Military Obligations and Military Service.”

Accordingly, the military departments at Universities will be abolished. Henceforth, a person should be freed from the obligatory military service whilst studying at university. However, upon entering university a second time, military service will be expected.

The above mentioned issue will be discussed at the plenary session of parliament next week.
