Public Defender’s Office to be Opened in Marneuli

Tbilisi. Media News. On December 14, Sozar Subaru, Public Defender met Azeri people with Elmira Suleimanova, his counterpart from Azerbaijan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the UN Development Foundation, Ramiz Hasanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Georgia and Davit Darchiashvili, Head of the “Open Society Georgia” Foundation.

The main reason of the meeting of the Public Defenders of Azerbaijan and Georgia was to open Public Defender’s Office in Marneuli. At the same time Public Defender’s Office was opened in Saingilo (Azerbaijani) too.

According to Sopho Kereselidze, Press Secretary of the Public Defender, Azeri people living in Georgia are given opportunity to let their problems known to the Georgian as well as Azeri human rights defenders.
