Shortage of Electricity Causes Residents of Kakheti to Protest in the Streets

Gurdjaani.02.23.05.Media News. Residents of the Chandra Village in the District of Gurdjaani blocked the Telavi-Tbilisi Road yesterday demanding electricity.

According to residents of the village, despite their paying their fees, they are only receiving electricity for 3-4 hours a day.

Akaki Sikharulidze, the acting Gamgebeli of Gurjaani later joined the protests himself. According to him, if the amount of households paying their electricity fees is over 60% then the village should be provided with more hours of electricity.

The residents demand to be provided with the same amount of electricity as the other villages.
